Maryna Makarenko

Maryna Makarenko, born in Ukraine in 1990, lives in Berlin.
She is a multimedia, installation and performance artist. She studied at the Berlin University of the Arts in the class of Ai Wei Wei and at the OCAD University in Toronto. Her work spans a variety of formats, from films and video installations to solo and collective performances and workshops. In her work, she addresses the omissions, exclusions and the invisibility of subject-constituting phenomena. Her work revolves around topics such as body, identity and technology. Maryna has exhibited in Germany, Portugal, Canada and Switzerland, most recently at Videonale.17 in the Kunstmuseum Bonn and Images Festival in Toronto.
