Traveling with my Documentary Film 2025
Documentary is a strategic choice for Chania Film Festival’s Educational Programs. Oral testimony, local history and documentary filmmaking are a common field of actions in order for the Educational Community to get acquainted with the Art of documentary, as well as for History to be taught in a modern way.
Chania Film Festival’s educational programs are lately strategically focused on documentary filmmaking along with the educational community of Crete. Documentaries that emphasize on human beings. Documentaries about local history. Documentaries where oral testimony is the predominant element.
Educators, students and Chania Film Festival’s education and production team cross paths in a common and creative journey of getting acquainted with the art of documentary, as well as elements of local and oral history. A journey full of human stories. True stories. Through the programs ‘’cineLessons’’ and ‘’True Stories / CreDoc’’ more than 100 documentaries have been produced in the last years. Each one of them is unique. Each one of them is different.
In 2022 we started cinematic journeys with selections of these documentaries in an action called ‘’Traveling with my Documentary’’. Selecting 12 documentaries every year, we have made dozens of stops to festivals and cultural events in Greece and Abroad, starting emblematically from Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
Continuing our successful collaboration, we embark on our journey [TRAVELING WITH MY DOCUMENTARY 2025] starting from the 27th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival with the screening of 12 new documentaries created in the context of Chania Film Festival’s educational programs.
