"1st International Festival of the Sea" - THALASSODROMIES

ΑΦΙΣΑ ΘΑΛΑΣΣΟΔΡΟΜΙΕΣ 2

Friday 9 and Saturday 10 August at the Beach Front of Ierapetra.

At the "1st International Sea Festival", marine activities will be implemented, with the cooperation of Yiannis Papadakis, coach of the Ierapetra Nautical Club, which include Open Sea Swimming, Aquathlon, children's triathlon and Beach Water Polo. The extraordinary beauty and great diversity of Ierapetra's seafront make it an ideal destination for coastal and marine tourism – an important source of growth and jobs, especially for young people. A wide range of local and foreign visitors will take part in our marine activities, either as spectators or as active participants to enjoy a sporting experience of recreation, adventure and relaxation in the sea environment.

Swimming

Discover the ultimate rejuvenation and fun with a dip in the crystal clear waters of Ierapetra. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced swimmer, our activities are designed to cater for all ages and skill levels.
Swimming competitions are one of the most demanding and exciting forms of athletic competition, combining technical excellence with endurance and strategy. Swimmers, regardless of level, rise to the challenge of the water, constantly improving their performance through enough training and dedication. Swimming competitions are not only a way to measure physical ability, but also an opportunity to develop discipline, self-confidence and team spirit.

Aquathlon

Aquathlon is an exciting sport that combines swimming and running, offering a complete sports experience for participants. Aquathlon races include an initial swimming phase in open water, followed by a running course. This sport requires endurance, strength and speed, while promoting the flexibility and adaptability of athletes to different environments. Aquathlon is ideal for those who want to test their skills in more than one sport and discover new aspects of their fitness, while boosting their confidence and team spirit.

Triathlon

Triathlon is one of the most demanding and exciting endurance sports as it combines swimming, cycling and running into a single competitive event. Athletes must demonstrate exceptional fitness, discipline and strategy as they tackle three different types of competitive activity continuously without a break. The variety of events and the transition from one to another add a unique challenge, requiring participants to quickly adapt to different conditions and manage their energy effectively.

Τουρνουά Beach Water Polo

Beach Water Polo Tournaments offer a unique perspective into the exciting sporting world of Water Polo. Held on shores or beaches, these tournaments combine the demanding nature of Water Polo with the relaxed and summery atmosphere of the beaches. Competitions are held in smaller pools or open water, requiring players to be quick, agile and have good technique. The atmosphere is lively and friendly, with spectators enjoying the sport under the sun and close to the sea. Beach Water Polo tournaments encourage the participation of athletes of all ages and levels, fostering a love of the sport and offering an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators.
