ROUTES OF OLIVE TREE, THE

Original title: ΕΛΑΙΑΣ ΔΡΟΜΟΙ

Documentary | 2017 | Col | 1h 0m

Summary

The intercultural importance of the olive in the life, the culture, but also the daily life of the peoples of the Mediterranean. The documentary is a flashback and at the same time, a parallel of the life of the Minoans and modern people, through the 'Olive Roads'. The olive tree is the only reference point and connects the distant past, with all the peoples of our common homeland, bathed by the Mediterranean Sea. With the time machine, attempting a step in the interval of history, we find the way of transmitting the knowledge and cultivation of the olive and we reconstruct Greece from the Minoan era until today - focusing on the oldest Minoan Olive Tree in the world (50,000 years old), located in the Sacred Grove of Cambodia.
