Summary

"Traces in the soil washed away by the sea" is a film on the subject of national consciousness and how it is preserved or altered over time. It is a historical-poetic documentary that explores the history of Hellenism in Eastern Rumilia, a region with a centuries-long history of continuous population movements, full of dopiolales and an endless osmosis of different cultures, with persecutions and refugees. On the occasion of a letter written by the director's grandfather in 1929, we follow his thoughts on the journey of this letter through time and testimonies of remaining Greeks of the Sozopol area and descendants of old residents who moved to Greece from Bulgaria in the 20s. a personal look, which brings back History from the macrocosm of the famous and numbers, to the measure of everyday people.
