Summary

A totally independent documentary, made by a group of young people who wanted to tell the secret life of an extraordinary 90-year-old man.
"The keeper of memory" is the life story of a man who embodies the popular soul of his city. Dino Marinelli for more than 25 years was the custodian of the Museum of his small Italian town: Città di Castello, in Umbria. He lived alone inside the museum and studying totally self-taught, over time he became an internationally recognized writer and artistic guide. Cited by art scholars, by national and international newspapers, guest of TV broadcasts, from Rai to the BBC, friend of Maestro Alberto Burri. In the documentary, which runs from the 1940s to the present day, amusing anecdotes, biographical stories and events from other times are intertwined with the memories, art, politics and history of Umbria and of Italy as a whole.
Dino Marinelli is a more unique than rare character: a true keeper of memory, a symbol of an era that perhaps no longer exists, but that we want to remember forever.
