On a blazing summer day the filmmaker and granddaughter of Emilia sets out for a visit to San Cipriano Road on a suburban hill in Rome, where Emilia and her three siblings live together, all over 90 years old. Husbands and wives have since passed away, the children moved out long ago. Only Elide, the middle sister, never married. The black sheep of the family, she bears a secret that she is almost too ashamed to share. Every day the four visit each other in their apartments to discuss life, share poems or kitchen recipes. Rummaging through co-living situations and memories well kept, this family portrait of a fading generation also reveals the filmmaker’s search for clues as to how to live her own life.
